My Pro Controller works with every game on the Xbox app except this game. The game doesn't detect it and doesn't process my inputs from the controller.

Update: I got the controller to work to an extent. I can move, but when I press A, it prompts me to enter a message in the upper left corner. Anybody know what that is supposed to do?

Oh I am sorry, I didn't realize that the controllers of other companies are also referred to as Pro Controller. I am talking about the Switch Pro Controller

So Switch controllers will be hit or miss as they are designed more for the Switch in mind thatn for use on PC with Microsoft of Sony apps, this isn't to say it won't work for some games, but it's most likely not a fully supported controller. Microsoft likes to keep things to their own brand, or brands like Logitech, Scuff etc. When mixing companies / brand controllers you will most likely run into issues (not always, but you get the idea).

I am aware of that, but the basic drivers usually let me play with it. Maybe I should submit a request for Switch Pro Controller support in #🤝coral-feedback ?

You can, but there's no guarantee the Devs can make it work as a lot of times it has to do with the source of the application: Steam, Xbox App on PC, EGS, etc... not the game itself.
