I can't work out how to drop items to pick them up later. Surely this is a thing? PS a release option to put fish and insects back into the wild would be super cool

Click item you want to drop then click the garbage can
For some weird reason the xbox version stores item you click on the left in the air till you decide what you want to do with it. It does the same when you want to swap an item in the spot of another item

There’s no way to put the items on the ground though. It just disappears
