why do I not seem to get any unique dialog?

I've romanced Scott up to full ten hearts, I proposed him to be my boyfriend and he said yes, but since then I've had NO romance from him at all? It's the same lines of dialogue all the time, am I missing something? I know he can't move in until I've got the upgraded house but I was expecting some new lines of dialogue or something to show we're in a romantic relationship. He just keeps talking about how the tavern should play more jazz and then he'll hum a tune to see if I know it, and that's pretty much it.

This is total speculation but when I’m look at the roadmap now I’m thinking they intend more “romance” vibes with the addition of slice of life features and the dating/hangout feature. Which is very much a bummer bc I want to wine and dine Nina and have cute moments now. I’m thinking more romantic dialogue will get patched in with current bug fixings or be a 2024 feature.

That's quite poor that this is allegedly a finished game, 1.0, but there's significant features missing including the end of the story??? You can't ship a half finished game as 1.0 that's a massive cop-out.

Yeah unfortunately that’s where the biggest complaints are coming from. This seems far from finished and while there’s lots to do the lack of dialogue and unfinished quests definitely disappoints

Valid complaints tbh it probably does nothing to alleviate current frustration but historically stairway at least has seemed to care a lot about releasing a good game. in light of recent revelations that their publisher is doing layoffs I think we’re getting the crap end of corporate interference

That’s one of my bigger disappointments with the 1.0 it’s like whats even the point of dating or marrying if they don’t say anything about it and still seem like just friends :/ I’m hoping they’re gonna add more dialogue for it but could very well not and haven’t said anything about it either or specified.

I can only play a couple hours a day so I’m hoping to drag the relationship stuff because I want it to be worthwhile and thus far from what I’ve seen im so disappointed

I think some have thought that the roadmap where is says hangout/dating mechanic was meant for merfolk but based on what we are seeing in 1.0, this will be for all romance options, come 2024. This game, it seems to not have everything we expected for 1.0.

I’m not marrying any of them for now I might date but there’s not even an option to break up. I’m really uninterested in marriage if they end up adding in more things for dating etc later that I might miss out on. Not that I don’t plan to replay I just thought since this is 1.0 and we waited so long for dating and marriage they would’ve had all of that in for release so I could have one smooth play through. It sucks because I really want to romance a lot of the characters but the dialogue is so bleh and there’s really no point to doing it right now.

They really truly should have kept it in early access, I had no complaints and at least I knew they were still working on things so far we’ve gotten silence

That is false advertising. Also, if you check out their Kickstarter campaign, they raised around $1.6 Million. It's very suspicious that the game is lacking so much content when the studio received so much money. If you compare this to My Time at Sandrock who only raise around $563,000, yet they did so much for their game including voice acting their npcs. Coral Island has no excuse to be in the state it is.

I just got mtas and the dialogue is so good the characters feel really fleshed out, cooper has me cracking up I haven’t got to romance yet but I’ve heard it’s really good. Which makes me annoyed that we waited so long to date/marry in CI and nothing even changed they really couldn’t throw in a couple of new dialogue options?!

The dialogue in the game definitely needs a big improvement. I also started playing MTAS and I'm noticing the devs added more dialogue and even changed some of the previous dialogue. Not to mention that the NPC's are also voiced. Coral Island is in much need of another update.

I’ll probably start playing the game again after the first couple of patches and hit fixes for the 2024 drop. The majority of the stuff I want to do is in those updates

@buoyant eagle @hybrid sky honestly I wish I could get into sandrock but the premise of it doesn’t call out to me. I’m a basic farming sim girly I guess. I think some people definitely will go to lengths to defend this game because it was alright in early access because it was expected to have some issues but at the end of the day they said this was a full release which to most people who don’t spend all their time on the discord means the full game should playable and it’s not. People have paid money some people may have splurged and bought because of the commercial and now are stuck with something they don’t like. While I don’t have any issues thus far it doesn’t mean I can’t be upset for everyone struggling with the game rn
