I'm struggling to be able to remove the original furniture from my 1st upgrade house. Anyone help?

depending on your input layout, controller or k/m, when you enter your house hit R3 on controller or P on your keyboard to enter Decor Mode, then if you have an item "selected" you can send it to storage or inventory.
