does anyone know if we can change the xbox buttons into playstation buttons when playing on steam? (like so the input are showing in game as playstation input. so triangle/circle/x/square/etc instead of A/B/Y/X/etc)

This can be done on Steam via various means. Someone would have to make a controller layout mod in order for those icons to be changed.
Or you can plug in a PlayStation controller and try it and see if it works automatically (YMMV as this differs from game to game).

last time, i tried to put the PlayStation configuration someone made (in the config we can choose for CI), it wasn’t working correctly. i think i couldn’t move in the menu or something. but i will try again tonight or tomorrow when i have time to make some test
and i did try and plug my PS controller. that’s why i know it shows as Xbox input in the game and not PS inputs. my controller is a ps4 so that’s maybe just why, but i know ps4 and ps5 have usually similar mowing (or whatever the name is) so if a ps5 works, a ps4 should work too. and i saw someone reporting the same problem (input showing as Xbox inbox) with a ps5 controller plug in their computer. (it was during EA tho, so maybe it’s fixed? but i don’t think so bc the devs were waiting on more infos and the person didn’t respond yet) so like, the problem do still exist i think. (and maybe if it’s fixed, my ps4 controller can also work if I’m lucky enough)

In my situation, Steam is fully recognizing the controller as a Dualshock 4/PS4. Big picture mode has Playstation buttons. But loading into Coral Island it's all back to Xbox buttons.
Are there native Playstation Buttons in the PC/Steam version?

i was hoping my ps4 controller would work on steam/pc version of the game since the game did release for ps5 and ps5 and ps4 controllers are usually similar to code/whatever the term (from what people told me at least)
but maybe the game on pc just doesn’t recognize playstation controller? or maybe i’m doing something wrong? idk

I'm not playing on steam. But on game pass it recognizes I have a ps4 controller connected but it's not registering it as an actual controller. I think for me just clicking on the controller settings flipping between modes and saving got the controlls to show up.

If you're playing on PC, it should be under Settings > Controller > Controller Style:
- Default (Xbox?)
- PS4 (color)
- PS5 (black-white)
- and 5. color / black-white of Xbox (or could be switch controllers, I'm not too sure..)

Aaaaaand that did it. Thank you! We had tried that option, but since the buttons don't change unless you confirm the selection, it wasn't very clear what the "style" setting meant

yeah, since changing styles don’t show them in advance, it was hard to know if changing style did anything at all.
does it also changed the input in the menu? i tried very quickly yesterday night (bc someone else had that answer in another thread) and the PlayStation buttons did appear in the "style category" but not at the bottom of my screen (like apply/back/etc). i will check again this afternoon when i’m able to play but if the playstation buttons only appear once i’m in the game and not just menu, it’s okay. i was just curious to know if it was normal or a me problem. (maybe i need to restart the game for the playstation buttons to appear at the end of my screen?)
