#I play Xbox game pass version but planning to buy the game on Steam

You’ll have to transfer your save from game pass to steam. google how to transfer your coral island game pass save to steam.
Dev team has explicitly stated that such save file transferring, while of course technically possible, is not supported (as it often results in eventual save file corruption)
While it’s possible the NG+ mechanic will mean all would be fine, I personally wouldn’t risk it
It could also do the exact opposite and immediately corrupt the file too lol
Oh, thank you so much, guys! I guess I'll buy the Xbox version then.
(The game is also remaining available on gamepass once 1.0 releases - so only would need to buy if you wanted to fully own it instead of rely gamepass only)
What does this mean? I don't have to buy the game anymore?
The game will remain on gamepass, so as long as you have gamepass you can play still
Ohhhh. Okay! Thank you so much.
Hey, Bee, the game crashed after I updated it, and I can't get past the loading screen. I tried verifying the files, but it didn't work. I uninstalled it and bought the game instead. The "(game preview)" is still there, but I can ignore it, right?
yeah I'd just ignore 'preview' and play the full version
but full disclosure im not a gamepass person so im less knowlegable on its functioning
What Bee meant regarding buying the game is that if the game ever leaves Game Pass, you'll need to purchase it in order to continue playing it. No one knows if it'll stay on Game Pass for a month, a year or whatever. So keep that in mind with any Game Pass games. The game library rotates twice a month, and Xbox will always give players a heads up, of around 30 days, of when games are about to leave the library
Okay! Thank you so much!
Yeah, I got that. But I can't open the game after updating it, so I decided to uninstall it and just buy the full game instead. I'm not sure if my saved file will still be there, though. T^T
xbox has cloud saves, they should be there.
Also typically if a game crashes when opening it, uninstalling and reinstalling it should typically take care of that. The Xbox Game Pass for PC App has a wide variety of known issues regarding games not opening after updating, but a reinstall typically solves it. I'm very knowledgable on the Xbox ecosystem as well as Game Pass so let me know if you have any other questions.
Yay! Thank you so much! I'll update you if this works.
You're very welcome, Good luck, and happy farming!
You, too!
Hey, so, I downloaded it and was able to play the NG+! Thank you so much!
