my game has been crashing a lot more often lately, but only when I go to save at the end of the day. however, just now this morning (Nov 6th), after I finished playing one day I closed out & restarted. But ever since then every single time I've started the game & clicked on my save file to start playing, the Unreal engine crashes before anything even loads.

Hi. Thank you for the report. Do you happen to have any recorded video of the problem above?
i don't know how to record via steamdeck itself, so hopefully this recording I took with my phone is helpful at all.
Hi. Thank you for the report. Do you remember what you were doing in game before the crash happens?
I wasn't in game yet, it always happens as I try to open it.
prior to this I had saved the game perfectly fine and logged out. the issue only started when trying to log back in later on
Same with me
Hi. Do you remember what you were doing in the game before you logged out? Have you tried reinstalling the game and updating your system device? Does the problem still occur?
Hi. Thank you for the report. Do you remember what you were doing in game before the crash happens?
I've uninstalled & reinstalled, and my steamdeck is up to date. I don't completely remember but I think I'd just returned from fishing & I threw all the fish in the bin before going to bed/save. I just tried to create a new game file, and that worked, so it looks like something is wrong with my particular save file. but that's the save I want to port over for new game+, because I'm in year 3 and have 1mil+ coin. is there a way to roll the save back a day before it got corrupted or whatever happened?
Thank you so much for the information. We will inform our teams about this issue
Can you send us your save file? For Steam Deck, your save file would most likely be stored in 'compatdata' (filepath:/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata). From there, you will see lots of folder with random number, Coral Island folder should be the one with code number '1158160'. Enter that folder, into the pfx folder, then drive_c folder, then you can follow the file path here: Users\ <username>\AppData\Local\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames to find your save file
here is my save file. thank you for your patience.
hello, sorry to re-ping/necro this thread, but I just wanted to check in & get clarity on this report before the 14th.
did you ask for my save to try & fix it or just for crash report reasons? and, fixable or not, will I be able to new game+ this save when 1.0 drops? (I worked pretty hard these last few weeks to save money in preparation so I'll be very disappointed to lose it so close to the update.)
May I ask if you were able to see the 'backups' folder after following the directions?
yes, there is also a backups folder. is there a way to figure out which is the one to use?
nevermind I figured it out
You can copy one of the backup files, move it to 'SaveGames,' and rename it to 'DailySave_1' or 'DailySave_2,' etc.
