Most farm sims I’ve seen you can’t divorce but you can date everyone and once you propose to someone the rest go back to single. Could be like that.

You go to the Mayor’s house and pay 50k gold to divorce. Your spouse moves out of your house and immediately returns to zero hearts with you. They don’t really want to talk to you anymore. However, you can erase your ex-spouse’s memory with magic from a witch and it will completely reset your relationship - they will forget you existed and reintroduce themselves to you the next time you talk to them. You can rebuild friendship with them that way

In fairness, I don't believe divorce was initially in the Stardew Valley base game. I believe it was subsequently added, in 1.1, when Shane and Emily became romanceable. Stardew Valley didn't offer a formal way to break up with folks you were simply dating until 1.4, with the Wilted Bouquet (which is a pretty rude way to tell someone you're over them, frankly).

This is all so hilarious. Paired with the whole “turning children into doves” thing, the SV farmer can be an absolute sociopath if they wanted to. Don’t want kids? Turn them into birds. Don’t wanna date someone anymore? Give them sad, wilted flowers. Don’t wanna deal with drama from your ex? Wipe their memory!

You can also run around and pelt the villages with rocks and/or bombs. Including the veteran with bad enough PTSD to freak out when popcorn is made.

There's currently no break up or divorce mechanic in the game. You can "date" all the singles at once, no cons to it. But no way to dump anyone.
