#Crashing when placing hay in the barn

Doesn't happen in the coop, but only happens in barn. After exiting the game I see "The UE4-ProjectCoralGDK Game has crashed and will close Fatal error!" Am playing the game with Xbox Game Pass.

Note: The Crash doesn't happen every in game day.

Reproduction steps:
Feed, Pet, collect from animals in coop.
Enter barn.
Place Hay (can pet animals before, but not sure if I tried to collect milk/wool first before crash)

Repro Rate:
This just started happening the past 2 days, as I started looking into ranching. It happens as I am in winter and was placing hay in the barn's feed trough for my 2 cows and 2 sheep.

Sadly no, I wasn;t recording or anything when it happens. Plus it's not like I can exactly predict when it's going to happen and plan to catch it.

I can try to record the screen with OBS when I play in the hopes of catching it, but when it hits it randomly hits.

I just caught it crashing going into the barn this time. When it crashed I switched from the app capturing with OBS to Screen capture so that I could show the task manager. This time the game fully crashed out.

Steps in the video that caused the issue:

  1. Go into Coop first.
  2. Pet Chickens and Ducks. Collect eggs.
  3. Enter Barn.
  4. Realize you forgot Milk Pail and Sheers.
  5. Exit barn and collect tools.
  6. Re-enter barn and game state is suspended.
  7. After a few moments the game crashes with the the image of the crash report from inital post.

I had 2 straight in game days where everything was fine and I was able to enteract with barnm and coop just finr. I stop recording and remove footage, and start to record again. On the day in the video you see that when I entered the barn the 2nd time after getting the tools the game froze in a manner that it had not dont to me prior to Saturday evening/Sunday morning when I started to look into ranching. Since I had the barn and coop I started to notice the game freeze in a manner similar to this.

Had this only been an occurrence that happened once and not again, I would have just chalked it up to a random bug, but over the past day or two I noticed that it tended to happen in the barn when tending to the cows and sheep.

Something that I just noticed that wasn't there this morning when I added the post is that there is now a Graphics driver update. I will install this shortly and attempt to recreate the issue over the next day or so to see if for some reason if there has been any issue since then. However I must reitterate that as of 04:07 EDT there was no sign of a graphics driver update, but within the past 14 hours NVIDIA did release a driver update, even tho the driver update shows that it was released on October 31.

November 7, 2023 update:

Updated Graphics drivers, and got on this morning. Ran through around 6 in game days and have yet to be able to replicate the crash.

Will update later if the issue crops back up. However it seems to have been some sort of possible driver issue that was forcing the game to hang on a certain code execution or graphics card call while in or loading the barn's code.

Hi. Thanks for letting us know about the update. So after you update graphic driver, the problem does not occur again?

It’s not happened TODAY again. However I don’t want to outwardly say that it’s fixed, but it is looking like a graphical driver issue was the cause.

The issue just occurred again. This time It was on Year 3 Spring 22, the day after the 3rd Tree planting festival. I had just sheered the 1st sheep, and was rushing over to the next animal in the barn as the game crashed. I have a screenshot from when the game froze, but was unable to load up OBS to record a video clip of it happening, but it was like when the others occured.

(Separate and apart from your crash report: you have a Silo but keep Hay in your chests? Do you know you can put Hay in your Silo and then retrieve Hay on demand via the fodder holder in your coop and barn? It's the brown box-looking thing to the right of the bucket of water in your barn, and it looks identical in your coop.)

I had extra on the outside for the winter time.
