I just found out about the reset and I only played 15 hours. I sold everything and now I'll just wait until the 14th. It'll be nice to start a game with some money

I only just started the game. Someone had recommended it. I got pretty far with some quests and then joined here and found out we are losing our progress. I stopped playing. I’ll go back and sell everything I have acquired , but won’t go any further. I will go back to the other early access games I’m playing. I’m not loosing any progress with them when they release fully. I also just started my time in Portia. I will definitely come back to this game because I love it. But I don’t want to get any further and then have to start at the beginning.

I’m trying to get more money! At this point I am in year 2 and have finished all of the big main story quests, so I’m just dividing my days among mining, fishing, and diving. I’m playing the game pretty much as I normally would at this point, but right before the 14th of November I am going to sell everything in my chests to see what it’s worth. Right now I have about $250k. I kinda want to upgrade my tools but I feel like that would be a waste of money 😝

Im going to keep playing till probably the first weekend in november then sell everything. I want to learn the basics the best i can so that when i play through the full game i dont make some of the silly mistakes i did in the early access

I went ahead and just sold everything off on my main farm, including animals and machines. I havent been playing much anyway, so now I'm good to go and will have a very nice nest egg when everything restarts on Nov 14th.

There is a bulletin board in each coop or barn that lists the animals inside. You can sell them from that board.

I am just making money and playing normally for the most part. I do want to have a nice little cushion of money, but I am not selling my ranch stuff or anything major since I took my time saving up for those things. I definitely want enough money to buy stuff to help me for big events like Harvest festival, also to upgrade my tools as quickly as possible.

Been playing since the Early Access 1. I'm now in Fall Year 4 and had cleared basically everything. Right now I'm selling everything I have cause I've been a hoarder and might as well cashing them out xD excited for the version 10 where you can get married and progress further in the game :]

New Game + Details

  • New Game + is only for players who have saves from Early Access.
  • New Game + will include total cumulative earnings for that particular save, not just the gold in possession. Everything else will be completely erased and reset (so sell everything if you want to make the most of your starting gold).
  • Once you play New Game + with an old save, that save will no longer be able to be played in the EA Test Branch.
  • New Game + will start a completely new game, starting from Character Creation. It is essentially a brand new save with the added gold.

I've given up on almost everything story-wise (though I've also actually reached the end of all aside from heart events that's available for the EA).

Currently, I'm focusing on producing as many artisan products from farm and ranch produce (focusing on the most expensive ones) and then selling them.
I'll be doing this until probably around the Nov. 10-12 then selling everything I own (of course for stones, woods, grass, I'll craft them first for more profit).

I'm focussing on earning money so I'll have the max amount for new game +. I had a bunch of supplies, artifacts, etc saved so it's a lot! I'm excited to start from scratch when it comes to designing the farm, the way I had things set up wasn't very conducive to unlocking additional machines etc, but I am taking screenshots of things I like (including my animal names, character design, etc) so that I can re-do those.

oh I also developed a lore reason for new game +. Basically, my character had a really vivid dream the night before she decided to move to the island. The dream felt like it lasted 3 years but only lasted 30 secs. So, now she is wondering if there really are merfolk in that ocean or if it was just a weird dream.

I kind of wish New Game + was an option for saves created after the new update. As far as I understand it's only an option for EA saves. It'd be a nice option to have for all save games.

Guess I'll just choose to grind and produce as much as much as I can until I release. Plus; I am enjoying the game so much and I play everyday.

It sucks that our animals will be gone and our tools being reset. Does this include the museum items being gone as well? If so; that sucks so bad.

I finished my money making play session today ... 23 in game days , made 600 000$, not too bad 🤪👌(started at 67 000$) . I process everything extra good quality and sold everything I could , my farm and my house is now pretty empty 😆

yeah its basicly just bringing the Early Access safe file to the 1.0 version. and then bam, all the safe file can be played on the new game +
(remember : new game + is a whole new game but, you got the amount total earning of gold from the Early access safe file)

you can also start a normal new game

I am going to hate having to start a new file. There has never been a first file that I am happy with. At least I can look forward to getting certain upgrades done sooner and with getting the earnings in my current save when the 1.0 release comes out. All I have to worry about is collecting. I am also grateful to know what is what.

I am currently at about 500k. I am turning all my produce into other forms of goods to gather the most profit. Otherwise; everything else is sold. I am planning to keep doing this until either all the produce turns into goods. Or up until the update. I am excited. This is the only game I've been wanting to play.

I haven't sold 'everything' either (nor do I know if I will). I know everything will vanish, but I worked hard to earn that stuff, and so I think I'll just sell a bunch of stuff near the due date like stuff from mining. We'll see though. I know my shipping bin can only hold so much too.

... Would it be possible to back up our beta save file when the 1.0 comes out? I usually go through many variations of faces before i'm happy with something... but that also means I'm deleting/remaking saves (restarting day 1) every few hours...

I dont want to start with THAT much because if I can actually buy everything already what’s the point? For me doesn’t make sense as I like the grind aspect of it, makes me look forward to play.

I’ll have around 100-300k and will buy the first things to make my life easier like unlocking the back pack rows and upgrade tools and maybe buy 2 outfits 😂

It's probably inevitable that the old save won't be compatible with the v1.0. But honestly, I don't think I will be playing the game anymore 😭😭 I can't bear the thought of starting over hundreds of hrs of gameplay. I've completed the temple offering, 4 items away from completing the museum, cleared all the ocean and explored the 4 mines completely, & gained 8 hearts with all NPC. Not to mention the tons of the farming and upgrading work 😭😭 it's far too much to bear repeating

I've been playing like crazy to get to a point where my farm will actually generate money-- processing a lot of crops and getting the L2 coop finally so I can get quails. I've finally got a bit over 300k gold in lifetime earnings.

I've restarted 5ish times. I enjoy zooming around and seeing if I can build up the farm quicker.
With the cash on hand it'll allow for quick fishing and net upgrades. I'll probably try to get the first bomb and clear the farm that way.

I mean, I can, yeah. Just copy the old files and the wine prefix files to their own thing, and add that as a "non-steam game".

Windows makes it complicated because both are gonna use the same save directory, but for linux that's all encapsulated.

I suppose it's possible that DRM of some sort might not like that, but I've not run into any issues with the built-in steam drm yet, and AFAIK Coral Island doesn't have any additional DRM. Actually... I haven't even checked if it even uses the Steam DRM, to be honest.

But non-steam DRM has a nasty habit of making things entirely unplayable on linux, so... blakeshrug

Mmm... yeah, bits like that can make it hard to be a Linux Gamer without some level of technical knowlege... I mean, it's pretty solid without it at this point but there's a lot of little things where games that Valve themselves haven't fixed that can be hard to do when you don't know what you're doing.

But if you do know those bits you can do basically any game windows can unless it's got certain special forms of anti-cheat or anti-copying software that treats all versions of linux as verboten.

But 99% of the time those are for shooter games and I don't really care about those, so... Linux Computer go brrrrr~! FlapDance

More accurately, all the gold you've earned the entire time on that save file. So it's okay to spend it.

Hustled to process my crop stash and mat stash, liquidated my critters and quit to desktop for the last time after lovingly dismantling my first farm. So I'll start with a nice chunk of change to help pay for food to help with the stamina xD
