So what are the sneak controls for a console controller like steam deck. Even tho I’ve been playing for awhile I never really did sneak for bug catching until now when I actually need it.

I believe you just need to have your bug net selected and have your mouse key held down to have it "held out." Then release it to try a catch when/if you get the bug in the catch area.

While the net is "held out" in that manner you will be in sneak mode, moving slower and being harder to detect.
