hmm have you checked all your chest?

tools cant be deleted or recycled, so my guess is its either in one of your chest. try the "sort chest" button. it brings tools to the top

Have you noticed any missing chests? there is a known issue with chests disappearing, so if you put it in a chest that disappeared then you would've lost everything in it.
