I'm not sure if there's a way to allow the game to play in the background when I alt tab.
While my farmer is in the hot spring area I have nothing to do so I alt tab to read on browser but this pauses the game.

I just tried a few things and I'm not finding anything in my usual tricks that seems to work

Since they updated I think they made it auto-pause cuz if it keeps playing it really messes up (aka you get stuck in a running motion and can only go in one direction). If you try triggering it or avoiding the pause, you might get stuck in that cycle - just a warning. I had it happen to me about 5 or 6 times cuz I would tab over to discord and forget to pause pre-update.
