#Freeze and/or crash when cleaning up the new ocean area (>40m)

Repro step:

  • Using osmium scythe cleaning up trash in the >40m ocean area
  • Sometimes on random time as well (not specific when cleaning the ocean)

Repro rate:

  • 100% when cleaning the ocean area. Random ocean area. Random in-game time.

Crash log:

  • Unreal engine menu never popped up
  • Could not find Crash folder in C:<username>\AppData\Local\ProjectCoral\Saved

Image/video:

  • Did not take any. The game just froze.
  • Task manager showed 99% memory usage on the app. So I just clicked "End Task"

Game version:
v0.5-167

PC & GPU Specs Detail:

  • Intel Core i5-13500
  • 2 x 16GB RAM DDR4
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super
  • Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 2TB

Some of the few things I tried:

  • Turning off my firewall and antivirus
  • Re-installing Steam
  • Re-installing the game
  • Verifying integrity of game files

Notes:

  • Played using my laptop and it crashed. But the problem was solved after verifying the integrity of the game file. Yet this only happen on my PC.
  • This issue (freeze and crash) persisted still even after the update. I made a post already regarding this issue but on a different in-game activity. Previous post was "Freeze when digging at the beach"

If u need anymore additional info, please just ask.
I love this game. I always recommend this game to my friends. But it sucks how it freezes and crashes most of the time on my PC.

Hi, @craggy plaza . Still crashed. Proof attached. Only opened Coral Island and nothing else. Snipping Tool app is opened after the game froze just so I could take a print screen in a way.

May I ask again, how many hours you usually played Coral Island before the game starting to freeze? 🙂

What activities that you do in-game before going into the ocean and experiencing the memory leak? 🙂

If you're not doing cleaning up the ocean and just exploring it, is it triggering the memory leak? 🙂

I’ve never tried just exploring it. Cause honestly that would be such a waste of a day in the game. Do I need to do it?

Okay. Other than exploring the ocean, is there anything else I should try? Would be great if u can give me a list haha. Like a game tester.

So far many players has reported the game is freezing but it's happens randomly and not in the ocean 🙂
