%appdata% search pc

Click local

Saved
Saved games
Back ups
Find the most recent (some people's have been out of order)
Copy it
Go back a page and change the currently daily save to something else- I just add replaced to it
Paste your copy
Change the copy name to whatever the original file was

So usually it's
dailysave_0 replaced.sav (this being the original)
Dailysave_0.sav (this being the one you copy/pasted)

I will get a video of this as well as soon has I have time.

i dont have the saved games folder on mine. is the the same steps for xbox as it is for steam?

barren tree
#

gamepass has a different access than steam unfortunately, and im not certain what it is (i just know its more complicated)

#

Any tips on doing this on Steamdeck? I do not have a windows device - only the Steamdeck

barren tree
#

That’s the steps the team provides for steam deck file access, so that should work

#

Ofc, don’t need to go into crashes once at ‘saved’ - go to save games etc and within there is the daily saves and the backups folder 🙂

Cant find older than this

# languid ivy Cant find older than this

Frankly I think that's a lot more than most people get? Don't they only go up to 5 normally?

Anyway, the reason you can't find something older than that is because they get overwritten as you play through the various days. They're not going to keep a backup of each individual file for each individual day. If you're looking for an older save, then you're out of luck, but those should take you back 10 days.

And it isn't so much a set number of "days" per back up. I loaded a backup that took me back a full season and a half

YOU CAN NOW COPY YOUR FILE EASIER

simply paste it into your saves- and rename it the next number

so if your most reacent save is dailysave_3
rename the copied file dailysave_4

load game and play- no more need to create a game first

Ok so there apparently is no way to back up save files on game pass. replacing the "wgs" save file folder with a previous one still acts like it has the new save file instead of the one from previous day, even though the game asks which file to import, local or cloud one. And it seems to always import the newer cloud one even if you choose the local files. Thats a huge bummer.

#

Unless anyone more experienced with this has any ideas on how to do an actual backup that works with game pass.

#

The directory is: Users/<username>/Appdata/Local/Packages/HumbleBundle.CoralIslandxxxxxxx/SystemAppData/wgs , and these are the real save files there but it always replaces them with the newer ones even if you copy in an older folder.

I truly wish I knew on gamepass. I have no experience. There's been some posts in the past about it I can look at

how to find your backup file (steam)

rancid star
# sharp mountain Renaming and all that jazz doesn't work?

Basically removed the entire "wgs" folder in which all the save files are located, placed a backup one that I copied on a previous day, then launched the game. Microsoft asked if I want to load up local or cloud save, picked local. Opened the game and it was still the newer save file.

#

This method works in other game pass games based on my research so its kinda odd.

a little re-sum up
||-# keyword for search: Locating Steam||

Locating save file - steam Steam.

you can easily access the save file location with windows run.

Press Windows(Windows) + R

%LOCALAPPDATA%\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames

copy paste that there, it will directly takes you to savegames folder
manual way:
go to (C:) -> Users -> (your PC name) -> Appdata -> Local -> Project coral -> Saved -> Savegames

Locating save file - steamdeck Steamdeck

For steamdeck, your save file is most likely stored in the 'compatdata' directory.

The filepath is: /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata

For Coral Island, its the folder with the number 1158160

Enter that folder, and then navigate to the pfx folder, then drive_c folder. Follow this path:
Users<username>\AppData\Local\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames

the save file name should be something like this:
Dailysave_0.sav.

Copy pasting save file 🗃️

note: If you plan to copy/paste a save file, you'd better turn off your network for awhile. so the auto sync doesn't mess with it. And make sure your game is closed!

Make sure the save file name is exactly like this.
Dailysave_0.sav check lowercase s.
DailySave_0.sav cross uppercase S.

Which one is the save?: #1150988964363255950 message

  • copy that save into somewhere outside savegames folder
  • rename it by changing the numbers. For example:
    Dailysave_0.sav Into: Dailysave_1.sav
    Dailysave_2.sav And so on.
  • after changing the name, you can put it in savegames folder
  • run the game like usual.
  • you can connect back to your network.

Finding MP save backup
Or Singleplayer save too (But you can now do that in-game). MP save doesn't have that option, yet (?). Hence you have to do it manually
Only PC player can do this, or at least, the host. As they have the save file for multiplayer

The backup folder is located in the savegames folder, the backup file can be found there

#Steps to revert a save file:
1.) Find and select the save file that you want to revert (Message below this)
2.) Move that file somewhere else outside the SaveGames folder. Copy/ cut works
3.) Open the backup folder, the backup save file would be shown there
4.) Copy and rename that backup save file the same as the previous moved save file

Make sure the save file name is exactly like this
Dailysave_0.sav check lowercase s
DailySave_0.sav cross uppercase S
5.) You're good to go. If all is good, you can delete the previously moved save file

Update
looks like on in-game, you can hover over the save file, and hold shift.
It would show the save file names (number), making it easier to know which one is the save file that you looking for.

This work for all save! Singleplayer backup save, and multiplayer save, too!
