I would change all their exteriors to the only other current appearance and then go about my day in game only for a few minutes in later the game would crash. I’ve attempted the same stuff a couple of times and it would still crash.

I get this crash too, everytime I try to change my buildings style, it crashes when i go to sleep at the "save" screen. This has happened 3 times now consistantly
If there is anything I can do to help yall fix this crash I will! I love the game but am sad I cannot use the other appearances for the farm buildings. @pastel crane

I'm not sure if its the same issue but my game would also crash at the end of the day before saving after altering my buildings. It ended up being an issue that items were right next to the buildings which caused an interference, therefore it crashed. In my case it was fencing to close to a coop so perhaps if there are objects near your buildings try moving or getting rid of them before making changes. This worked for me so I hope it does for you!
