Yeah I've had the same issue too. The only time I managed to "kill" it was when I went across a bridge and it followed and fell into the chasm. lol

I go straight for them before any other monster, hit them as much as possible, and actually using the special attack (right click) seems to also do a little damage after they dig if they're not quite finished off (at least on sword)

You can damage him after he dives with the sword spinning special move.

You can kill it with sword special move (the spinning one) but yeah you have to save it

Hold down X is special charge for tools. For weapon it’s clicking A instead

Weapon has to be glowing for special to activate/be charged

I figured it out after that msg but then I also learned about weapon needing to be charged when there was TINY bit of health left on that piglet 😭🥲😂

At least now you know?? Guess bringing dynamite with you just in case is a good backup when weapon isn’t charged
