Started a new save file with the fall update, and Sam's quest to ship bronze quality crops is not triggering. I am nearly to the end of Spring, have shipped at least 60 normal crops, but nothing. I just want the waypoint

i am away from home rn but i think i have 3: the one to free the water giant, the one to wait for the pickstarter to complete, and the one to follow the roots

So as long as you’ve “met” him and sold at least 50 raw crops it should activate. I think you might have to talk to him outside of the intro cutscene, but as long as he isn’t greyed out you should be fine on that count.

Not in shop mechanic but outside it. Again, if he isn’t grey in relationships tab, that req should be met.

the only thing i can think of that might've messed it up is i didn't sell crops for the first couple of weeks? but now I've sent over a bunch of sugarcane and turnips and stuff

It takes time after you reach the required crops so if you only just got the number done it might just need more time to trigger.
I think in an old thread one person had it trigger 2 weeks after they shipped 50 crops.

If it doesn’t trigger after a couple weeks, definitely make a bug report. Keep selling raw crop meantime just in case you didn’t hit threshold I guess. Keep all the bronze and above saved for when it’s active
