Selling Foragables?

I'm in week 1 of the game. What should I be doing with stuff like shells and flowers? Should I be selling them?

Yep, you can sell them first (but keep hold of wasabi and morel for offerings)

You can also give shells to Emma (she loves them) and daffodils to Betty (also a love)

What about fish and bugs early game? I know I need to save some for the museum, but what about the rest?

My priorities are:

offering --> donation (museum) --> everything else

that's for all fish, bugs, gems, etc

so stuff like flies, super common - just donate to the museum, sell the rest
you can make it into food when you get a kitchen (but that'll be down the road)

Also, don't forget to manually shake coconut trees about middle of each season. They sell for quite a bit which is helpful for beginners 🙂

I read somewhere to shake the trees on my farm too, but nothing seems to ever come of it?

The coconut trees closer to the lookout and beach areas give coconuts when they become ripe

I think there are some random coconut trees around the town area as well, but otherwise, mainly around the beach , lookout, garden lane area

The maple/oak/pine trees can sometimes drop seeds

Also - every 1st and 15th of the month (starting spring 15) - go down to the diving pier area

There's a basket that contains stuff you can sell
