grass around farm cant be removed/harvested with scythe?

there are some random bits of grass around my farm that cannot be harvested/removed with the scythe. why i move through it it doesnt even react? its like the game reads it as not being there.

just wondering if anyone knows a fix. sleeping doesnt help reset it
