Game freezes and crashes my steamdeck

I updated the game and my system before playing again. The first time it was working ok but at 7pm in game i went inside to place the pet bed and it froze then crashed my steamdeck. Tried to play again but as soon as i left my house and finished talking to mark i checked the mail and it froze and crashed. Third time it froze talking to mark outside first thing then crashed.

Commenting to add I'm having similar problems playing the new update on my steam deck. It crashed when I tried entering Sam's shop, then once my deck restarted and I loaded the day again it crashed while I was meeting the mer king, about halfway through the cut scene. I've given up playing for today because I hate replaying the same day over and over for it to just crash 😭

I uninstalled game and reinstalled and was finally able to get through a day. Will see if it stays that way.

Seems to be working great simce uninstall and reinstall. Seveal days have gone by now

I’m having the same issue when entering museum or other buildings. I’ve had 4 crashes in 2 hours on steam deck. It is frustrating to have to restart the day over and over. I will try uninstalling as well. Thank you

Seems to have worked for me! I made it through a whole day with no issues. (Unfortunately I have to go to work so I only had time for one day lol)

At first I thought it worked but even after uninstalling and reinstalling, every time I go into the museum it still crashes😕

I've been able to play a whole week but I still hold my breath whenever I enter a building, so far so good though

I've had that problem since yesterday too. The game freezes every morning no matter what I do. Whether harvesting, caring for animals or just walking around the area. After a few in game hours, it freezes and I can only end it via the task manager.

Haven't had any crashes since, the game has frozen twice (once after cooking about 6 dishes and once entering a building) but it didn't crash my steam deck completely like it was. I just had to force close the game and restart it and redo those days 🙂

I didn’t get a chance to try again today but yesterday I got through one in game day but on the second day, when entering the museum the game crashed, yes. Hopefully I can try again soon. Thank you for checking in Dinda—I absolutely love the game and appreciate the support and care:)

Have you had a chance to try replicate cooking and entering the same building to see if the freeze reoccurs? 🙂

Not yet, I just avoid doing things that freeze 😂 but I will try to replicate it tonight when I play.

I was able to replicate it by doing exactly what I did last time, which was cook 5 bug jerky, exit menu, cook 2 bug jerky, cook spring fratata. The game then freeze after the fritata is cooked and will not let me press confirm and the music stops (game frozen). I don't know how to take a video with my steam deck and didn't think to use my phone 😦

As for the building I believe it was my barn and that has not happened since, but my animals can't leave the barn though (they all bunch up outside the door when I ring the bell and just sit there).

For Steam Deck, your save file would most likely be stored in 'compatdata' (filepath:/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata). From there, you will see lots of folder with random number, Coral Island folder should be the one with code number '1158160'. Enter that folder, into the pfx folder, then drive_c folder, then you can follow the file path here: Users<username>\AppData\Local\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames to find your save file 🙂
