I have about 35 hours in and am broke😭 I have a few artisan machines, but no farm animals yet. I keep dumping my money into seeds. Haven’t even hit my first winter in game yet.

The most expensive seeds have the highest profit. Pop those into the mason jar and you’ve got a nice profit. Forage as much as you can while you’re waiting for those to go then start selling them off. Each time you get a higher rank in farming, foraging, fishing, and catching always opt for higher quality and price increase

Also might help to turn your game speed down so you can do more stuff during each game day.

I only just started doing this last night because I’m a fool

I did not realize that was a thing at first either and that made for a very inefficient start of my game. PirateHands

Yeah, for real. I kept rushing through mines like ā€œGOTRA FINISH! GOTTA FINISH BWFORE I PASS OUTā€

also don't forget to shake every tree in sight for coconuts at mid-month. those things can sell for a decent amount.
harvest grass out in the world - at least on current live, 60 fiber = one rope and one rope = like 900 gold

tap trees as soon as you can - the byproducts are all worth a good bit, particularly the maple syrup.

because expensive seeds come with longer times

It’s true

gentle current
#

and when you break it down to how much they are worth per day- the more expensive does not always pay out

#

not on the per day break down

Your faith in my math capabilities is sweet

gentle current
#

i have over 800 hours in this game. i PROMISE it isn't true

round ferry
#

I trust you

gentle current
#

we've done the break down on the wiki for a reason

round ferry
#

I haven’t read it

#

I like trial and error. Turnips do have a high and fast yield

gentle current
#

potatoes for spring- just sell them- get as many as you can- you dont even need to process them- they have the highest per day profit out of any spring seeds until you unlock sugar cane

summer is pineapple juice if you can get them unlocked- 3 harvests vs 2 for melons

fall is fairy rose until you get cactus unlocked

winter is kind of whatever you feel like doing

#

potatoes high outsell turnips

turnip is 6.25 coins per day
potato is 10 coin per day

sugarcane is literally 20 coin per day. actualy 23 with the update not including the price perk

#

5 days grow time and then it's just pure profit

#

literally 23 coins per 1 crop per day for 23 days

#

so base is 529 for 1 sugarcane crop for the season

potato is only 10- and 5 harvests if planted on day 1 so that's only 500 per season

23 harvests- 23 coins per day

round ferry

…I am so bad at this

gentle current
#

i've done spring so many times- and by that i mean 60 times- i'm not new to this

round ferry
#

Not doubting your credentials

#

Just lamenting how bad I am at pulling max profits

gusty nacelle
#

i don't find joy in min-maxing. i also have a hoarding problem. šŸ˜„

#

i'm also still only on my very first game and only in fall 2 so

round ferry
#

I think it’s because I enjoy the RP of ā€œI am supplying all of the local produce for the island so I can’t just keep selling one thingā€

gusty nacelle
#

I just like the variety. It's a small thing, but the morning farming routine not being identical every day makes it feel less like a chore to me, I guess?

round ferry
#

I feel the same. I do greatly enjoy having sprinklers though because I always overplant crops

#

I do a lot of heavy income supplementation through foraging and catching bugs

#

Oh and ocean harvestables

gusty nacelle
#

oh definitely. finally getting the replicator to get consistent (if slow) gold kelp to get sprinkler II is a frickin' god-send

round ferry
#

I still don’t have the replicator šŸ˜‚

I'm just here to say for the number of days being fairly short radishes in summer make ridiculous profit. Pickled radish doubly so. I'm shocked how high value they are.
