Is the merfolk update considered the 1.0 update? I keep seeing things that are going to be added in 1.0, but idk if they are the same thing.

No, merfolk is apart of the Fall update, 1.0 is when it transitions from Early Access to full release, and afaik it is planned ot be released end of this year/start of next year

but w/ the pets, it says they will be coming out with the merfolk update

SOme things get changed around, but i think it was THe pets are coming out in merfolk, but MYTHIC pets are 1.0, but again i could be wrong, what i do know is MErfolk/fall is not 1.0, becuase they still have to release WInter update and such before they will comfily release 1.0
