Hi.
I gifted a friend the game and they are unable to open it. We have gone through the usual checks of driver updates, firewall, admin privileges, re-verify game files in Steam, force restarted Steam etc., but no luck. It opens and gets stucl on the splash image and then in Task Manager, it just sits there with no RAM use etc.
Any ideas?

Nope, just the little splash page thing. He was sharing his screen with me so I could see what was coming up. Weirdly, when he tries to log in, I get the 'Your friend is now playing' pop up on Steam so it recognises the game it just is going no further.

Does your friend have a lot of browser tabs open?

Yes, we did.
No, they have everything else closed.
I also got another friend I gifted the game to to test it out and theirs worked so we can rule that out.
problem solved
The issue is Windows 10, once it was run in Win 7 compatibility mode it worked.
