I got told the fall update is out for beta users, I am a beta user how do I get the new update?

What happened to my old game!!?

As noted in the linked information, beta is a separate branch with a different save files, new saves are required to play

So my old game is gone?

Save files from main game are safely waiting in the main game file directory, & will be available anytime you play the main branch again

Whether you change game branch’s manually, or automatically when the beta closes when the update goes live to main branch

Ok thank you I got so worried as I got so much done on my main game and I was about to cry it was all gone so I have to create a new game to test out this beta but prob worth it?

So to get back to my main game or main branch? So I just do the reverse for settings? Put none instead of merfolk update

The beta test branch yes requires you start a new save
Whether that’s worth it or not can differ for each individual
The beta is less stable than regular, having more frequent / likely bugs & crashes, which will need to be reported
At some point, a beta unique item will be added which helps us get money and town rank to test new things
As we don’t have that yet, it’s the standard gameplay grind to unlock everything

Main branch - just swap from the beta being selected to none, then steam will download the main branch again & you can play your current file
