I saw that Coral Island has finally become verified on the Steam deck, however the game does not seem to recognize that i am using a controller.
Did i miss something in the settings?
I'm not sure i should be having issues if it's verified.

In the character creator, using my left joystick over the name areas would write wasd

I can see it but the game thinks i'm playing mouse and keyboard
This also shows a mouse and keyboard remapping

On game page, click on the controller icon and check there for the name of the layout
The game sometimes gives settings for keyboard and then will switch to showing controller

Steam deck home should have a list of games, if you click on it there’s a page with the play option and settings, that page. It’s not the game’s menu.

On a related note if anyone reads this who was using Steam Link to play - I had to run steam on my PC as an administrator for Coral Island to recognise the controller. It's like this with a few games on Steam Link for whatever reason.

its weird you had this problem, i play on my steam deck and it worked great, the only issue i have is when in inventory sometimes when im trying to move items it warps me over to the dustbin and i click and lose stuff

The trash issue is a bug, if you select outside of first row you can avoid it.
