are our trees suppose to die when we enter a season where they dont grow fruit?

yes but only bc what we currently have are not the games fruit trees - the items we have right now are fuit plants - produce for 2 seasons, take up 2x2 space, need daily watering, wither outside of their seasons

when the games' fruit trees are added in game (my guess is some are going to come with the august update) those will never die/wither, take up 3x3 space iirc, not need watering iirc, will have 1 fruiting season, & will be dormant off season

You can use your greenhouse once you open it for fruit plants and they produce all year long. You just have to remember to water them (or use sprinklers).
