I think my ocean may be bugged? I’ve already collected all the sun nodes I can but there’s still a staircase blocked by corrosion that I can’t go down. By looking up some maps of what’s been released already I know I should be able to go that way so I’m at a loss. I’ve also heard about turtles blocking your path but I’ve yet to encounter one. Am I bugged or am I just missing something?

There is potential you are bugged if you do not have an ocean quest at all. It’s known and devs are working on it

I am having the same issue. I haven't seen a mermaid scene and I can't get none of the stairways cleared. I also found all of the orb thingies to activate the the super coral except for the area circled with dark red. the small area at the top in the red circle is where I couldn't find any despite clearing the whole area of trash. I have been through all the areas I have cleared and cannot find where to progress.

Turtles were inhibiting progression and forcing game play in a specific direction, so they were removed. They could bring them back or change the mechanic later on.
If you haven’t cleared all 20 orbs then you won’t get the merfolk cutscene. Are you sure you cleared all 20, what does the quest counter show?

I know I didn't but I can't find anymore and I have cleared all the areas available to me of trash. I can't clear the stairs and the small area that is within the dark red circle in the image above is the only place I haven't found orbs. There should be 2 but there aren't any showing up
I have searched everywhere I have cleared so many times I have lost count and I cannot find a way to progress in diving

If orbs were already active, it won’t be there. You need to go to the areas that haven’t been activated yet. If the orb isn’t showing up, wait a few days for trash to respawn and try to clear that area again. If it’s consistently not there, please screenshot the empty area and report in bugs #1105382785826443264

They haven't been activated yet. Cause I couldn't find them. I have also played several days in the game with no luck. I'll go back to the area and take a screen shot

hmmmmm...that is weird. I went back after I finished the tree planting festival and one showed up in the area I couldn't find it. Maybe I progressed too fast?

Sometimes they hide behind objects and are overlooked. If you uncover one and don’t activate it it can take days for it to respawn. Hope the rest show up for you, good luck!

I must've missed it cause I cleared all the trash and didn't see it but it could've been there and like you said, it took a few days to respawn.

Is the 10m the milliliters? I'm in the 30+ areas and the mermaid scene has not spawned. I think they must be working on the ocean
