When playing on my Steam Deck the game crashes during the saving process between night and morning.

This does not happen every time but quite often probably a very high percentage. I am tired of playing the same few days over and over again so I can't give an exact percentage.

It is on the Steam Deck and the Unreal Engine crash message is only up briefly before the whole device crashes to a black screen. I have been unable to capture the crash report. I did try to submit it with the buttons on the screen but uncertain if that actually worked or not.

More Details: I was playing on my Steam Deck. Started on late fall saves about two days ago and is getting worse I have replayed Winter 1 at least 3 times now and can't get to Winter 2 of first year. Some nights while the game is saving the Unreal Engine crashes and pops up a form briefly asking for details on what I was doing at the time (but I can't type because the Steam Deck seems to have frozen), it also tells me what went wrong (Something about not enough memory I think message goes away before I can finish reading and processing this section of the form.) It then has two buttons for reporting and closing the form or reporting and shutting down the game. I attempt to report but as I couldn't type at the top I don't know if it is actually reporting or not. Then more often than not my Steam Deck crashes to a black screen and I have to restart the machine completely.

Update: Had the same issue on the computer. Just crashed between Winter 1 and 2 again.

Going to say it's at 100% at this time. As I can not get to day 2 of Winter year 1.

I was able to copy the report since I was on the computer this time. I think this won is different from at least one of the crash messages I got previously because I don't see anything about memory in this one and I know I saw that briefly in one of the other crash reports so perhaps I'm crashing for several different reasons?

Are you on Steam or with Xbox Gamepass?

For steam players, you can follow the file path listed here on your computer: C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames

there will be a save file in that folder, you can drag it here to send it

I did figure out how to make the appdata appear. Could have sworn I'd turned on hidden files before but...at least I found it.

Thank you! I can't wait to be able to play that save again...Meanwhile I've started game save 3 because I'm super addicted to this game.

Hi again @rustic pivot! i'd like to ask whether you were installing some fences that disappear during the day before the crash? or did anything related to fences (installing, taking it off, creating, etc) before the crash happens? 😄

It’s possible. I had recently upgraded my axe to take out stumps and had been taking them out recently and if they fell in my fence line area I would then put the fence posts back where they were supposed to go. I can’t remember for certain if I was doing that on the day of the crash or not. I do know that when I did it there were two places specifically where the fence glitched and wouldn’t connect back up right and at least one post in each spot refused to respond to my tools when I tried to pick it up and fix the fence.
