I tried to save my game last night and it just stayed on the save screen, so i force quit the game as i had to go to bed, i've just logged back in and my entire save is now gone. Is there a way to get it back or am i now going to have to start from the beginning?

if your saves and backups are within the SaveGames folder, but the game won't show your last save, can you please zip your entire SaveGames folder and send them to me? 😄

Thank you both so much for your help, I did manage to do this and I got back to Spring 20 which was good enough for me because I was itching to play! In future, if this was to happen again, is there a sure fire way to know which file is the most recent save? There were 10 in the folder and I just took Sav10 over because I assumed that would be it, but that one wasn't the largest file, should I have chosen the largest file? They all had the same date and time so I was just guessing 🙃😅
I really appreciate both of you helping, I only started playing this game a couple of days ago but this interaction has really set in stone how great its going to be in full access!
