Hello, I have the issue that my game is just running very poorly on my new PC. It stutters and lags badly. I really don't know what else to try - like I personally find it unplayable at this point. Maybe someone here has some suggestions?

What I tried:

validating steam files
complete re-install of the game (with clearing windows cache beforehand)
new save file
checked my audio and graphics drivers. all updated. I even re-installed them
Windows all updated too
made sure it's running on seperate GPU (not integrated graphics)
turned off anti-virus software

None of the above gave any improvements and I'm out of ideas now.

My system is way above minimum and recommended requirements:
Win 11
13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900H
RAM 16,0 GB
Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060
1TB SSD

I have found that often turning the settings down helps a lot. I am using a different set-up than yours, but the settings for the graphics don't need to be on ultra.

I don't even have all settings cranked up to the max 😅 I understand the sentiments of lowering graphics but like if my setup cannot run this game on high settings, idk what PC could tbh xD

I feel like the summer update made it unstable? it even runs worse on my old laptop and I used to be able to play it there fairly decently

I have the same issue Sobbingcrying if you find a solution, I am begging for it. The lag is so bad it's becoming unplayable - but my save didn't start out this bad.

unfortunately unlike what I thought before it's just happening all the time in game and I can't find a specific event anymore that could cause it. sometimes I just step out of the house and it starts to lag before I even do an action.

that's why I tried troubleshooting my PC but I'm out of ideas what else I can try 😅

yeah I've tried more things to fix it since then and wanted to make sure it's not an issue with my PC. thought maybe the community has an idea I didn't try yet 😅 I'll ask in the thread again, thanks Bene 😄
