After the update to Coral Island v.0.4-66637.
I noticed that Xbox Game Bar Background video recording wasn’t working. It would sometimes record the sound but show a blank video screen. Or sometimes just record a few seconds of the Game Pause Screen (the screen that opens if the game window loses focus).
The video recording would work if I manual started and stopped recording by clicking the button on the Xbox Game Bar.
I was able to work around this by doing two main things
1) Reset the Xbox Game Bar
- Go to Start > PC Settings > Apps
- Search for “Xbox Game Bar” in the “Apps & features” List > Click the entry > Advanced Options
- Scroll down to “Reset” > Click "Reset" | This will reset all your custom app settings for recording
2) Set the In-Game Display Option to Borderless Window
- Launch the Game
- Go to Settings > Display Icon (2nd from left) > Display Mode
- Select “Borderless”
Don’t forget to reconfigure your settings for Xbox Game Bar and Game Recording after doing this!
Hopefully, this helps someone. It took me a while to figure out.
Does anyone know why this happened? I only figured it out because someone posted in a random forum that Rocket League had a similar problem.
