Hello, I'm having issues with the exploring the ocean quest. I've gotten up to the point where I'm waiting to unlock the gate to the merfolk village which is fine since that hasn't been added to the game yet. But the issue I'm having is that I've watched others play the game and I've done some research and everywhere says there's supposed to be turtles in the ocean that you give different gifts in order to progress farther but I haven't seen any, is this still a thing?

The turtles were deactivated in the Summer Update. :> I think they can still be seen swimming around in places, but the requests were removed.
