How long does it take for underwater traps to work? Is it a set amount of time or is it random?

No scent- there's a chance it'll be next day
Scent- 1 per day

Scents usually last 2-3 days if I remember correctly

you have like a primary button that you use for everything and then a secondary- it'll be whatever your secondary option is

It depends on which layout is used, most likely X. Just in case it comes up again.

I'm using controller and it says "interact" but the only thing I can do is eat the ground scent - it will not attach to the trap

It’s the opposite button to the interact button. As long as you are holding the scent over it and it says interact, click the button that you would use to eat (on a mouse it’s the left button. I don’t play with controller)

Okay so I kept doing it and you can't stand in front of it, you have to stand on the side? At any rate, controller folks, that's what works - stand on the side facing it and hit X -- for some reason facing it straight on makes the X apply to you and you eat it, but facing the trap from the side gives the option to place it in the trap 😂
