It's playable but also I hear mostly only works well on the most expensive one.
I would very much suggest waiting till closer to release
Cuz sometimes people have great luck on the cheaper decks with no issues and some people It's completely unplayable
ah ok thanks, too bad, I am also on the fence with sun haven but that game doesnt have good controller support . coral island has full controller support
i have the most expensive steam deck but it shouldnt matter right? all decks have same specs except for storage
Since spring update the mid tier and lower steam deck has had performance issues. A few are unable to get past character creation page. It’s been suggested that there will be improvements to performance with summer update, so you can wait and see
They actually have different ssds and storage that make a difference. The 64gb is different than the 215 or whatever it is and the most expensive one. I play on my 200gb one and it works fine for me.
thanks @cerulean sand , yes i know the storage is different. didnt know it makes such great impact. i have the 512 gb, so it probably works on that one?
I've been playing on Steam deck - had a couple of crashes (maybe 4 in about 30hrs of playing). All have been right at the start of the day after saving so it's been fine. They all happened in the same session of playing and haven't had any issues otherwise, but maybe I've just been lucky? Only thing that doesn't work especially well is cooking - you'll need to use the touch screen for that.
The hitbox for tools very occasionally gets a bit whacky but if you just use the touchscreen to hit in front of you it sorts itself out no problem
ok thanks !
Some of the controller bindings are not fully there, but thankfully touchscreen works for those. Same for the cursor issue that pops up.
I've played 60 hours on the 256gb Steam Deck. Aside from occasional wonky controls, it's been working fine. No crashes. I think I started playing after the Summer update was added.
Oh man I tried playing Sun Haven on the Deck for less than an hour I think before giving up and moving on to Coral Island 😆
I have the 512 and haven't had a crash or any remotely noteworthy issue yet, 25.1 hours in
