Cannot interact with sign

Hi, I am loving this game but have experienced a few issues. One of it is to do with a sign I made. I was struggling to work out which crops I had planted and where, plus how long there was left in their growth cycle so I thought making a sign might help as it says you can set the display. After placing it, I get the option to interact with with the item but then it doesn't do anything. Not sure what I am doing wrong here? Please help!

I think the wooden sign is the only survivor tho? Iirc that one will still work

You have to select the product/crop in your bag before interacting with the sign. Works for me 🤞
