No grass around island

I'm in year 7 and I noticed I don't get grass growing around the island any more. Is this happening to anyone else?

I don't get them after Y1. I'm not sure if this is intentional though

I’ve read previous from Bene that there’s no grass regrowth around map after year 1

Yep, don't have grass regrowth either. Not only the grass outside my farm, but even if I plant grass in my farm it won't grow. It will fill in the square I plant it in, but won't regrow outside of that.

I have seen some grass regrow in areas we open with offerings. Not sure if intentional or just a lucky bug

Currently in year 2 fall, I’ve been cutting down wild trees and grass (weeds) since spring. They respawned on summer 1 and fall 1 of year 2.

Weeds do respawn, it’s the grass that’s the problem. At least weeds give fiber.

Hopefully they change their mind... Fiber is not rare, but not as plentiful as hay was for chopping down grass. Takes a lot of dehydrators to keep my 2 upgraded barns and 2 upgraded coops fed. Have been buying a lot of hay.

Grass starter is not the most cost effective option, but it does seem to spread pretty reliably and quickly.

i'm assuming they think we'll have endless amounts of money and not care about having to buy those supplies but i feel like that defeats the purpose completely

I actually don’t disagree at all. It’s why I also hope they’ll add a Seed Maker, etc. to the game. The charm and part of the point of a farming simulator, in my opinion, is to grow up our capacity to be self-sufficient and sustainable. Needing to shell out heaps for grass starter is just aggravating. (That said, I DO have so much money that buying the starter when I need it doesn’t ‘hurt’ me, even if it does annoy me.)

Odd. I routinely have to cut my grass to keep it from encroaching on my hay flooring. (On that note, I wish grass wouldn’t grow on the hay flooring at all. 😒)

Yeah, it does not spread at all for me. Tried it 2 years in a row. It would fill in the square I planted it in, but would not spread. Planted it day one of spring, and left it until winter.

So how does one get grass planted? I am in big trouble since my pigs dont bring any truffles T^T and i dont want to restart
