Idk if it's the game or I screwed up but when diving, it no longer gives me the option to reset so I have been starting at the beginning every time for the last 4 or 5 times & it takes me awhile even using maps to get where I was previously because I'm so unfamiliar with the layout. This wastes precious underwater time. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

You can't reset the anchor location if it's already in the default spot.
Or do you mean that you can't move it to a new location while you're underwater?

Does it always drop you off at the beginning? I feel like it didn't used to? Does everyone start at 10 & have to travel to where they were at the last dive?

If you don't adjust the anchor position while you're underwater, it will stay in the same place and drop you off there again the next time. While diving, press X (or something else possibly, it says so on the screen somewhere) to move the anchor to your current position. Next time you dive you can choose to just go diving and you'll start at where you set the anchor; or to reset the location and start at the default beginning spot again.
