Super quick tips to try to help you guys get unstuck, especially if you're using an old save:

The giants must be freed in order of the quests, and they must be freed manually. Opening the next mine (especially if on an old save) doesn't mean the giant is freed

Check your quest and make sure your mine matches it
Earth giant -- earth mine (bronze ore)
Water giant -- water mine (silver ore)
Wind giant -- wind mine (gold ore)
- If you're in the wind mine and wondering why it won't trigger, a quick way to check is to see if you have access to the Giant's Village waypoint. This waypoint activates when you have freed two giants. If it's not active, you haven't freed the previous two giants yet. Or, uh, well, check your journal and make sure the element matches 🙂
