#Best crops/fruits to make money

I came back today from my hiatus and I was a bit sad to see that kegs seem to make just grape juice instead of wine which doesn't sell for that much and they take a while to finish. I had like 20+ kegs filled with grapes.

What are the best crops or fruits to use for money making?

I saw someone made an ROI (return on investment) sheet a while back- I don’t believe it has changed much outside of wine being too difficult to produce now; I’m going this route for Y2
Spring: sugarcane -> Cane Nectar
Summer & Fall -> hot pepper -> Kiracha sauce
Winter: I think was tea leaves into tea?

#

I invested roughly 12k on Y2 Spring 1 on sungarcane and after it’s finished being turned into it’s by product I’ll have roughly 169,280 as a base return assuming I get the bare minimum no double crops or better quality.

Mason Jars > kegs

#

I had 30 and 30

#

Also fairy rose for honey is better than snow drop

I’d listen to pix; like I mentioned I knew pre update what I wanted and it all fell to pieces because I’m still transitioning to mason jars; but yeah they’re the way to go at the moment

so for me- i have more of a factory set up but ultimately i have 3 15x15 scarecrows (no i dont have fun on planting days)
spring = cauliflower
summer= pineapple (3 harvests vs 2 for melons even though the initial product for melon sells for more, pineapple lasts longer)
fall- fairy rose. (i only do fairy rose. this will supply my entire year [almost] for honey. i have 20 bee hives)
winter- snowdrop and i just sell it outright and do nothing with it

don't laugh at me horch lol 1mil in 1 year but it sucked getting to that point

I was laughing at the “ no I don’t have fun on planting days” I’m working up to that point xD

oh yeah no i do not. not even close. and i'm still working on a 4th area. hopefully with attachments we get an auto seeder on the sprinklers or a tractor or something

A little confused I think then for your fall set up; I understand it sets you up for the year for honey, are the mason jars still processing pineapples the rest fall too?

jaunty thistle
#

not all of fall but with 3 harvests of pineapple it makes up for it. i also use fall to farm sea cucumbers which sell for 218 with the perk at base so it evens out

#

it's also my mining month. i spend most of spring/summer of year one farming as much kelp as i can for sprinklers and just make t1 so i dont have to water stuff

the devs said the wemod thing is ok though so i uh- i'm changing my play style for bit 😄

What is the “we mod” thing?

wemod is a community of modders. you can pay for an in game over-lay or you can just do the free version and turn them on individually each time. things like infinite stamina. pause time, infinite money. insta catch fish .

the feedback was- if you are bugged or crashing, dont report it since it's a modded we can't fix it correctly.

Interesting! Thank you all for the comments.

What do you guys put into the greenhouse then? As for right now, mine is still just grapes but there is probably a better crop to use the greenhouse for

i haven't decided yet. i wanted a reoccurring crop since it's year long but wasn't sure

#

someone said strawberries are good BUT they have a chance to grow into a big one and that ruins the crops already there and you have to replace them. you'd have to do the t1 sprinklers only if you do that to keep from worrying about it

#

grapes is a close second sell price wise from what i'm seeing

I am beyond upset they nerfed cooking. I was enjoying making fast money with fruit tarts. I have hundreds of tomatoes now and nothing to do with them. Such a profit loss 😢

but are you strawberries in a 3x3 at any point

#

because if you only have 1 t2 sprinklers with strawberries than it isn't a concern

quaint needle
#

Nope, all 2x5 rows, use other crops to break it up

jaunty thistle
#

so if you' dont have them in a 3x3 block and stuff is breaking them up then you won't have big crops

ah gotcha

I was telling someone else I make an extra 50+ k on the sugarcane per season. It loves to double crop and is mostly osmium so it sells pretty decently. I like a mix of sell as is and processed crops.

But I’m making room for fruit plants so we’ll see how that goes
