I'm continuing an existing savegame in mid-summer with the new update, and was just curious if I had missed the first year's Tree Planting Festival since it had already passed. Basically, when it rolls around on Year 2 will I get the first-time experience or the 2nd?

From my experience during beta (an old save from Dec beta which was in spring year 2, && a new save I made to retest year 1) it’ll play out as normal!!
My actual og game file is summer year 5, so gonna be a bit until I can confirm it’s still true on main now… BUT regardless:
My beta files both attended the tree planting festival for the 1st time ever, and it was the same in every way, no visual differences.
This leads me to the conclusion that it isnt locked to years 1-4 in game for the progression of festival, then year 5+ for it being a picnic
Instead it appears to be dependent on the player participating in the festival 4 separate times, with each time the area healing more over the years, until your 5th visit at festival when it’s completed and now a picnic
Which contradicts what the devs listed, but that’s how it played 🤷🏼♀️
(The fruit plant info they list in changelist notes also contradicts what seasons they are actually available in game too btw hehe)
