My guess as to the seemingly disappearing tools for those who had tool upgrades in process before the update & logged in to play new stuff but haven’t been able to get their tool back (disappearing tools)

adding edit here further thought on this, all such lost tools = corrupt = cant get back (aka why devs recommend new files each update bc theres always a chance something can go wrong during update corrupting certain data)

  • Because the tool was at the blacksmith - this made it not in your inventory at time of update.
  • As we know from the #❓coral-faq , anything not in your inventory or on your farm at the time of an update will NOT be safe from potential resets
  • it is extremely likely that tool you were upgrading is now lost &/deleted from your save file
  • it’s possible (but I’ve yet to see a report of this happening) that you can still see & use the ‘retrieve lost tools’ option at the blacksmiths to possibly replace your missing tool (but if it’s deleted from game this wouldn’t work anyways)
  • it is still possible the devs are currently working on a fix for this BUT it is also possible there will not be a fix available for this
  • this particular bug issue was NOT found during beta (so may not be fixable)
  • most likely you’ll need to just ignore that save file & start a new one (comes with the territory when playing early access games)
  • if you don’t want to do that yet, then wait until we get an update of some form ( #📣announcements #📋coral-changelist etc) I’m regards to a patch / hot fix

Please bear in mind I am NOT a dev, just a player who is good at trouble shooting

I have an idea for the lost tools. In the save folder, there is also a backup folder. Maybe try to grab one of those ones and if the tool wasn’t sent to the blacksmith, then you may good to continue that save. All you have to do is copy the file from the backup folder and rename it to match the main save file. I don’t know if it will work but it’s an idea.

Is there a way for the mods to pin your message ? This way every player who may have the tool bug won't have to start all over 🙂
