Okay so I am a bit confused here! The dehydrator I was excited to craft when I saw the description. It says "removes moisture from fruits and vegetables. Processes potato, sweet potato, kale, and beets into chips" so when I finally went to put beets into the machine it says it is only used for ocean scavengables.

The oven in your kitchen should be a part of recipes for such chips I believe (wiki has it all listed in cooking)
As for dehydrator, those ocean scavenges take 24 hours to process into dried versions & then sell for double
It also is now what we use to make our own hay - process fibre into hay with it
