I play on steam deck, and it’s mostly good. Bait controller binding is missing, but others work well in live game so far. Beta there are a few bindings missing, like museum rewards, which can get frustrating. For all of them, touchscreen works though, so that’s an option at least.
overheating problems or anything?
Not really, but I usually play for short periods and pause the game, so it could be different if you’re playing for longer than 30/40 minutes at a time. Battery life for steam deck isn’t great, only lasts 1-2 hours. You can get battery kits to fix that issue though.
switch release is planne, yes
will happen once/after 1.0 full release is completed on PC
I'm trying to decide what handheld I want. Steam deck vs switch but I see a lot of complaints/issues with the steam deck so might be a switch thing
I play on steam deck and it’s not bad but not great it gets extremely hot and drains the battery even when plugged in also the frame rate keeps dropping from 60 to 1 every 3 mins which is so frustrating but I love the game I brought my deck just to play it and it cost me 6000 where am from cause I live in the Caribbean and I ordered it from USA I can’t wait for a fix once they fix these issues I’ll be so happy
steam deck is literally the best console I've ever had the pleasure to have. I'm a gaming pc guy. Since the deck I have never used the switch again.
Haven't had problems with overheating ever, though battery drain is unusually hugh with coral island
I use the most expensive model if that makes some difference
Steam deck play is pretty good but as many have said drains the battery like nothing else. But this is early access game wise so sure there will be performance patches and such.
Pc gamer here. Have had a lot of handhelds, spent most of my time on the switch before buying a steamdeck, and love the steamdeck. It doesnt overheat running Coral Island for a long time, stays quiet, good framerates etc. Only thing is the battery life is fairly short, but easily fixed by hooking it up to the charger (not a slow charger). I never regretted getting a steamdeck once.
I play on the steam deck but I do so while it’s in the official docking station and hooked up to my tv. Love it and have not had any issues!
I only play on deck and yes - i ve had once overheating problem. It was after playing the game over 3 hours straight.
But most of the time it works very fine. 👍🏻
