How do I access early access on Steam? I had alpha access and now I have nothing at all. (I chose Switch key) (edited as it said Steam)

So to confirm, I can't play it now until its out on the Switch? I've just followed the link from that link and its just saying Alpha (which is now over)

Bc you chose a switch key, you can’t play until the console ports release after /when full release is ready (bc early access is only available on PC/steam)
So the key you selected does not have access to early access game version
(From what I’ve read from others very very early hopes of kick starter was that EA could be steam and switch BUT as development progressed it was discovered that EA was NOT something Nintendo store would really support so EA is steam/PC only - & bc of this there was a timeframe when stairway was allowing backers to swap their game keys/purchase from a console to steam - you’d need to Email support@stairwaygames.com for more info on that)
So if you don’t want to wait till then (my personal guess estimate is around this time next year - summer next year for console versions) then you’d need to purchase the game on steam to play the EA (& any beta test branches that pop up)

Thank you for explaining! I've spent the last couple of years so deep into studying that I've missed this information and now feel annoyed for buying the Alpha when I hardly had time to play that as it was 😆 oh well, I've waited this long haha. I've just finished my final practical exam so hoped to play it haha! No worries.

Another option that would be ‘free’ possibly is if you already have Xbox/PC game pass then coral island is available to play on PC there too!! It’s a ‘game preview’ I believe they call it, same as the steam early access just no beta access & Microsoft doesn’t always finalize the publish of updates when devs submit (the last hot fix was weeks after it got done on steam)
Game pass usually has very cheap trial options so if you know a time you’ll have the free time to play, I’d sign up & play that way
