i've caught 200+ during Y2 summer and fall and no luck with silver sardine 😦
i was wondering if this is intentional - e.g. lvl 6+ fishing or a higher level fishing rod/bait will come in future that affects it - or if drop rate is skewed

Drop rate for silver quality (of any fish) is basically just RNG from my experience
My guess is that will change as development continues, but currently that’s all it seems to be, just RNG

idk how to get silver sardine for sure, but yesterday i got silver sardine in summer season during night time, near the chicken boat (east side of diving area). i got it after several times fishing there and everyday, but i got it in hmm i guess about 5 days straight
i did it without bait but with quality fishing rod

i fished every night in summer, from 6pm-midnight (sometimes a lil later than 6pm) on 50% speed, and now on day 7 of fall fishing every night too
i've tried chicken boat, lookout, the curve near the diving area, the island on the beach, the water on the beach area (like near the dock/diving)
i've probably done closer to 300 with the bronze and normal. then lost track of all the ruby red dragonets lol.
it just feels like the RNG is a little too off. like not even one silver in that time feels weird. i've had silver dragonets and lobsters.
but, again, its early, it could be due to fishing level or rod/bait. maybe when updates come higher fishing level means better quality more often

I'm having the same issue, and I think it's just that the RNG for silver sardines is really poorly balanced. I've fished on the pier near the chicken boat for the last 20 in-game nights using the Lv 3 fishing rod, 50% speed, bait, and even the 10% buff from smoked salmon for the last 5 or so days. Catching tons of sardines, but no sign of the silver star
I really hope they re-balance it in the next update because I'm running out of things to do and spending hours trying to catch the silver sardine is not fun

i know, we're like expert sardine fishers at this point!! sometimes i sit there with my eyes closed and can catch sardines and ruby red dragonets like that just based on sound lol.
hopefully they re-balance quality of fish. maybe there's an extra figure somewhere in the code making the roll veryy rare lol.
anyway, thanks for your responses. as it's still early access i can't be too mad. it really could just be that better quality fish will come in future as we progress through fishing levels and get more rods and stuff.
