Other than seasons, of course, is there a time limit or time frame to get things finished? I just wanna make sure I'm playing the game correctly, and I can do it at my own pace because I've had a slow start to money making and museum donations so far but I enjoy the game.

Not really. Seems like the devs are pushing more for a slower paced game but really you can just play however you'd like
