Getting rid of dead 2x2 plants

Anyone have any idea how to get rid of the dead plant here? It's really cramping my crop layout but I can't get rid of it with the scythe, and the pickaxe doesn't affect any of the 4 tiles... is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

axe has worked for me, takes multiple hits tho

Even though it looks like a dead plant, that's the usual image for a dead tree. Trees don't survive the seasonal change, except for some that last 2 seasons. If you hit it with the axe enough times it will go away.

Actually, it is a dead Fruit Plant, not a tree.

Use your axe, often hitting the top right or left corner works but no guarantee.

Did anyone try to see if the tree goes green again when the season returns? It’s odd that a tree withers and dies just because the season is over… just saying

I'm not sure anyone has waited that long to try. Normally, from my harvest moon experience, once a plant/tree is dead, it's just dead.

Blast it with a dynamite. Works for me.. Just be careful of the range damage though.
