Is hardwood bugged?

Exceptional Cutter I & II (1% and 2% chance to drop hardwood from regular tree) is the first skill I picked, so far I have three full stack of wood, not counting those I have spent, and still have not got even one hardwood.

I just got 2 yesterday but still very low chance, i am already clearing my farm of woods

I had this problem on my last save, but in this one it works fine. I think it's just a insanely low chance. You can buy hardwood on the carpenter tho! I did that for my build upgrades

I asked this before christmas because I was getting the skill message but no hardwood, ended up using an explosive on a log on the farm to get hardwood to upgrade my axe

When can you buy it from Dinda? I just went there and all they had was regular wood and I really want that gold pickaxe.

You just have to be above rank F. You can get it by cleaning diving areas and donating and stuff

I couldn't get any by cutting trees but I did get some by clearing trash on the sea floor. You can also get some if you destroy some of those logs on your farm via explosives.
