#Unable to move when something on the toolbelt-backpack is selected?

Is this just me, please?
Since the update, I've noticed a problem moving after I select something from my belt/backpack. Example: If I select the bug net and then try to walk it won't let me and I have to do a 'test swing' to bring back the ability to walk again.

I've had this with all my tools, sword, and even the milking pail or grabbing something to add to a machine - if I'm not in the correct position to use it, when I use my arrow keys to move my farmer, my mouse pointer jumps back to the tool belt/backpack area.

To fix it I need to either do the action for that tool (and waste a little energy) or select an empty slot and then click anywhere not the belt/backpack to be able to move around again.

(It happens consistently across various game sittings, with full PC shutdowns in between.)

Curious, I haven’t noticed but will watch for it when I get on next - I always use scroll wheel to change my item/tool selection, maybe that’s part of it sus will look into this ..

I've been experiencing this problem too. It's like there is a line drawn that you cannot cross until you've swung the chosen tool.

I also have experienced this problem. I seem to have the worst problem with what ever tool is in the 1 hotkey slot. The other hotkeys will let me move if I hold down the button for a second (I play on keyboard), but the first one won't at all. You can also clear being frozen in place if you go into one of the other screens (map, crafting, etc.). When I switch back I can move again without using the tool.

Yeah, this has been an ongoing issue for me too. It's also super frustrating any time that my character stops moving when I change direction.
